Koldam Hydroelectric Project

Encardio Rite provided comprehensive geotechnical monitoring solutions for the 800 MW Koldam Hydroelectric Project. Our instrumentation system, which included piezometers, strain gages, prism targets, multipoint borehole extensometers, plumb lines, joint meters, temperature meters, and seismographs, allowed NTPC to make informed, critical decisions during the dam's filling process. The successful installation of an automatic data acquisition system further ensured continuous and precise monitoring of the dam, enhancing safety and operational efficiency.

Koldam Hydroelectric Project

The 800 MW Koldam Hydropower Project consists of an embankment dam.

Encardio-rite was selected to provide the geotechnical instruments for monitoring of this prestigious project. The instrumentation work was carried out successfully, which consisted of monitoring the dam and commissioning an automatic data acquisition system. NTPC was quite appreciative of the instruments as the monitored data helped them in taking many critical decisions during the filling of the dam.

Instrumentation installed included a piezometer, strain gage, prism targets, multipoint borehole extensometers (electronic; 2, 3, and 5 points), plumb lines, joint meter, temperature meter, portable readout units, an automatic data acquisition system, and seismographs.
