Brenner Base Tunnel
Encardio-rite was responsible for the monitoring and
instrumentation of the Brenner Base Tunnel which is a nearly horizontal
rail tunnel with 2 parallel tubes.
55 km long, this tunnel runs
between the railway stations of Innsbruck and Fortezza and is connected
to South Innsbruck by an underground by-pass. This by-pass and the base
tunnel put together are the world’s longest underground railway, with a
total length of 64km.
