Yas Mall Redevelopment project

The Yas Mall is a shopping and entertainment destination located in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The mail is undergoing a major redevelopment to improve the visitor experience.  It redevelopment program required to extend the height of existing columns by cutting roof at required locations. Thus monitoring was required to safeguard the construction works and the existing structure sections. 

Encardio Rite’s sister concern Rite Geosystems LLC in UAE was awarded I&M sub-contract for the monitoring works. The scope of monitoring works was to measure the movement of existing columns and beams during construction period. Encardio Rite was responsible for supply, installation and web based online data access to all the stakeholders.

A number of wireless tilt meters were used to measure horizontal movement of Beam and column. The tilt meters were connected to gateway (datalogger) thorugh RF (radio frequency) wireless communication network. The gateway collected the readings at required intervals, stored the data and transmitted the data to the web based (cloud) server.  The real-time data from the tilt meters were continuously accessible to the consultant/contractor at their desk, during works. This helped the contractor to perform their construction activities safely, without any delays or failure.
