Middle Vaitarna Dam

The Middle Vaitarna Dam (Modaksagar Dam) is a key RCC gravity dam supplying water to Mumbai. Encardio Rite executed turnkey supply, installation, and monitoring services for the project. Instrumentation included piezometers, uplift pore pressure meters, water level recorders, concrete pressure cells, strain meters, thermocouples, plumb lines, triaxial joint meters, portable readout units, automatic data acquisition systems, weather stations, and seismographs. The project also featured light-protecting units used for the first time, enhancing monitoring reliability in challenging conditions.

Vaitarna Dam, also called Modaksagar Dam, is a unique gravity dam on the Vaitarna River, which supplies water to Mumbai. It is a complete RCC dam.

This project was executed on a turnkey basis, providing supply, installation, and monitoring services.

Instruments used in the project included apiezometer, uplift pore pressure meter, water level recorder,concrete pressure cells, strain meters, thermocouple,plumb lines, triaxial joint meters, portablereadout units, automatic data acquisition systems, weather station, and seismographs. Light-protecting units were used for the first time for this project.
