Vamsadhara Project Phase-II

Vamsadhara HEP Project is located on the Vamsadhara River in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh India. Vamsadadhra project also consists of a side weir of length 300 m on right bank of Vamsadhara River at Katragada (Village) Bhamini Mandal for diverting the flood waters into flood flow canal.  Flood Flow Canal about 34 km length with two balancing reservoirs at Singidi and Parapuram. The purpose of project is used for diverting the water for irrigation potential of 45,000 acres. 

Encardio-rite was awarded the sub-contract for supply as well as installation of safety monitoring instrumentation for the project in 2010. The instrumentation included:

  • Piezometers – foundation and embankment
  • Uplift pressure cells
  • Strain meters – rosette with no stress strain mater
  • Earth pressure cells
  • Concrete pressure cells
  • Load cells
  • Joint meters
  • Water level recorder
  • Magnetic settlement systems – vertical movement
  • Magnetic settlement systems – horizontal movement
  • Temperature meters
  • Seepage measurement systems
  • Portable readout units
