Polavaram Dam

Polavaram Project is a multi-purpose irrigation project built on the Godavari River in West Godavari district and East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. This project has been designed to address the water scarcity in the country. Dam construction involves the construction of a 1.5 m thick concrete diaphragm wall to a depth of 40 to 120 m below the river bed under an earthen dam which is the first of its kind in India.

The project is an earth-cum-rock fill capable of discharging 3,600,000 cu ft/s (100,000 m/s) with 44 vents with a spillway of 2,310 m (7,580 ft) in length, 907 m (2,976 ft). Build a dam. Water. The project reservoir has live storage 75.2 tmcft at the full supply level of canal 41.15 m (135 ft) MSL and gross storage of 194 tmcft to enable irrigation of 23,20,000 acres (including stabilization of existing irrigated land) in Krishna, West Godavari, East can be done. Godavari, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, and Srikakulam districts of Andhra Pradesh.

Encardio-rite was awarded the sub-contract for supply as well as installation of safety monitoring instrumentation for the project. The instrumentation included:
