Yargol Dam

Yargol Dam, a concrete gravity dam in Tamil Nadu’s Kolar district, supplies drinking water to nearby towns and villages. Encardio Rite was entrusted with the full contract to supply and install safety monitoring instrumentation. Key instruments included piezometers, uplift pressure meters, five-point strain meters, concrete pressure cells, temperature meters, linear joint meters, normal plumbline, and readout units. These systems enable continuous safety assessment and ensure structural integrity throughout the dam’s operational life.

Yargol Dam

Yargol dam is located at Yargol village in Kolar district of Tamil Nadu across the Markandeya River. The purpose of the project is to supply drinking water to Bangarpet, Malur, and Kolar towns and 45 villages on the way.

The project comprises a concrete gravity dam of length 414 m and a maximum height of 40 m. The gross storage capacity of the dam is 500 million cubic feet of water.

Encardio-rite was awarded the complete contract for the supply as well as installation of safety monitoring instrumentation for the project. The instrumentation included:
