Loharinagpala Hydroelectric Power Project
The Loharinagpala hydropower project starts from the Songad river is located on the river Bhagirathi in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Loharinagpala is a weir-type of dam. The height and length of the dam are 15 m and 115 m, respectively. The total capacity of the dam is 190,320 cubic meters. The output capacity of the dam is 600 MW, i.e, (150 MW ×40).
Encardio-rite was awarded the sub-contract for the supply as well as installation of safety monitoring instrumentation for the project. The instrumentation included:
- Piezometer
- Anchor bolt load cell
- Strain meter – rosette with no stress strainmeter
- Joint meters
- Temperature meter
- Borehole extensometer – multipoint electrical and mechanical
- Tape extensometer
- Plumbline– normal and inverted
- Portablereadout units
