Chagallu Barrage Project Stage-II
The Chagallu project involved the construction of a 40 meter high and 4 km long earth dam with a 25 m high spillway. The project started in year 2007. Encardio-rite’s work included the geotechnical instrumentation for the barrage, earth dam and canals.
Encardio-rite’s scope of work included supply, installation and monitoring of the geotechnical instrumentation. The instruments used included a piezometer, uplift pore pressure meter, pressure cell, strain gage, temperature meter, joint meter, vertical/horizontal movement devices, plumb lines, a portable readout unit and an automatic data acquisition system.
