M’dez Dam

The M’dez Dam, located on Sebou Lake near Sefrou, Morocco, is a 109m high backfill dam designed for irrigation and water redistribution. With a reservoir capacity of 700 million m³, it plays a vital role in preserving the Saïss plain by capturing surplus water and channeling it to regions experiencing rainfall deficits. Launched by King Mohammed VI in 2015, the dam primarily supports irrigation between Bouleman and Sefrou. Encardio-Rite contributed to the project by providing hydraulic settlement systems for monitoring settlement during backfill operations, ensuring long-term structural integrity.

M’dez Dam

The M’dez dam is located on Sebou Lake, 58 km southeast of the city of Sefrou, in the vicinity of the city of Fez, Morocco. This is an upstream 109 m high backfill-type dam. It consists of a reservoir with a capacity of 700 million m3. As part of the preservation of the Saïss plain, the dam will capture water resources of surplus areas in order to redistribute water to areas under development or experiencing a rainfall deficit.  Launched by the King Mohammed 6th in 2015, this dam will be used primarily for irrigation of the area between Bouleman and Sefrou.

The instrumentation in this dam combines manual and automatic instruments. Encardio-rite’s hydraulic settlement systems have been installed to monitor the settlement during backfill.
