Gosi Khurd Irrigation Project

The Gosi Khurd Irrigation Project on the Wainganga River, Maharashtra, is a major water conservation and hydel power project featuring a 22.5 m high, 11.35 km long earthen dam with radial gated spillways. It supports irrigation across multiple districts and generates 24 MW of power monthly. Encardio Rite provided turnkey supply and installation of safety monitoring instrumentation, ensuring the dam’s operational safety and effective water resource management.

Gosi Khurd Irrigation Project

The Gosi Khurd Irrigation Project, also known as the Indira Sagar Irrigation Project, is located on the Wainganga river, at Pauni Taluka, Bhandara district, Maharashtra, India. The Gosikhurd project has benefited the villages located in Nagpur, Bhandara, and Chandrapur districts with its irrigation, hydropower, and water conservation. The project is successful in conserving the water of the Wainganga River. It is generating around 24 MW of electricity per month, which is supplied to nearby villages.

The project consists of a 22.5 m high Earthen dam, 11.35 km long, with radial gated spillways. The reservoir creates a total capacity of 1.15x109 m3 (930,000 acre-feet), spillway capacity of 37,000 m3 /s, and active capacity of 740.20x106 m3 

Encardio-rite was awarded the sub-contract for the supply as well as the installation of safety monitoring instrumentation for the project.
