Kaleswaram-Sundilla Barrage
Sundella Barrage, also known as Parvati Barrage is on the Godavari River near Kasipeta Village, Manthani Mandal, Peddapalli district in Telangana State. It is one of the three barrages proposed in the Kaleshwaram Project which envisages the construction of three barrages between Yellampalli (Ramagundam) and Medigadda. The barrage is constructed for irrigation purposes and will supply water to the drought-prone upland regions of Telangana State.
The total length of Sundilla Barrage is 1.45 km with 74 gates and 41 spillways. This length is divided into seven blocks separated by expansion joints, which are spanned by PVC water stoppers. It has a storage capacity of 8.83 tmc and a total discharge capacity of 57000 cumecs.
