230 kV Underground Substation
The 230 kV Underground Substation in Labrador is South-east Asia's first large-scale underground substation. The project includes construction of earth retaining support system (ERSS) and four foundation rafts (basement). The project is in line with Singapore's urban renewal plans and SP Group's own goals of ensuring access to reliable, sustainable energy for all, and building sustainable infrastructure. The Labrador substation will serve the electricity needs of nearby Alexandra, Clementi, Keppel, Pasir Panjang and the Science Park district.
The safety monitoring works was provided by our Marketing Associate in the region. Hundreds of our geotechnical sensors including piezometers and arc weldable strain gages were used in the project. All sensors (100%) are operating satisfactorily until today.
