IPI at Msheireb Station (Package 5), Major Stations, Doha Metro
Excavation for Msheireb Station, approximately 40 m below ground level is one of the deepest excavations for metro in the Middle East. Instrumentation & Monitoring (I&M) thus played an important role in the project. I&M scheme implemented by Encardio-rite was a mix of automatic and manual monitoring. In place inclinometers were a key component of the automatic monitoring and gave vital information on diaphragm wall deformations. Data was available on the project’s web-based data monitoring service in near real-time with automatic e-mail alerts.

IPI at Cabo Raj Bhavan (Governor’s House) Slope stability of Cabo Hill
To monitor the distressed unstable slopes of Cabo Hill, GSI recommended field monitoring through instrumentation. The instrumentation scheme included monitoring of slope movement, settlement, water pressure and ground cracks. In place inclinometers played an important role in monitoring the slope deformations. Automatic logging of IPIs was done twice per day in the rainy seasons May to September and during the remaining months it was once per day. The data was available online in near real-time on Encardio-rite’s web-based data monitoring service with automatic e-mail alerts.

IPI at Plot-13 Deira Waterfront Development
Plot-13 project involved heavy construction activities quite adjacent to existing Dubai Metro Green Line tunnel and Al Shindagha road tunnel. Instrumentation and monitoring became necessary for the safety of the two existing tunnels. IPIs were used for monitoring subsurface lateral movements which may affect the existing tunnels due to excavation and dewatering activities. Automatic logging of IPIs was done at every 4 hours with near real-time display on Encardio-rite’s web-based data monitoring service with automatic e-mail alerts.
